Art Alum Wins Grant for Professional Studio
School of Art and Design graduate Helen Villarreal recently received an individual artist grant from Arts Alive, a program of the Community Foundation serving Greeley and Weld County. The grant, totaling over $3400, will allow Villarreal to fund all equipment needs for a fully functioning ceramics studio.

Nick Carlson Wins Second Place in International Computer Graphics Competition
Art and Design student Nick Carlson has won second place in the 2016 SpaceTime Juried International Student Poster Competition, hosted by ACM SIGGRAPH, the leading professional conference for Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques.

Professor Andrew Dahlke Featured in Pulitzer Finalist's Work
UNC Professor of Saxophone Andrew Dahlke is featured on a recording of a piece chosen as a finalist for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize in Music. The work is titled The Mechanics: Six From the Shop Floor, composed by CU-Boulder Professor Carter Pann. The Pulitzer Prize in Music is based off of the recording of the work rather than the written score. Pann’s piece was composed for the Capitol Quartet, a saxophone quartet in which Dahlke was a member through October 2014.
