Mariani Gallery – Guggenheim Hall

September 24 – October 18, 2014

Opening Reception: September 24, 4 – 6 pm

The University of Northern Colorado and Mariani Gallery is hosting the second exhibition of selected works from the donation of Bob and Chris Petteys. Chris Petteys was a noted authority on women artists. She acquired a notable collection of work during her lifetime.

The twenty-five works of art in this exhibition include lithographs, etchings, wood engravings, and paintings. They represent a select portion of this collection.

The individual pieces are reflective of important artistic developments in Modern Art from the Impressionist period of the latter half of the 19th century to the second-generation abstract expressionist period toward the end of the 20th century. Each artist has been a contributor and innovator in the development of Modern Art.
