Institute Goals and Objectives:

  • Participants will reflect on the role of artmaking in their own lives and the lives of their students.
  • Participants will utilize strategic K-16 partnerships to provide quality education in and through the arts.
  • Participating art educators will create lines of communication and partnership programs with state and local arts agencies that will enhance arts experiences for K-12 students.
  • The strategic K-16 and arts agency partnerships, the implementation of  five year arts plans and systems of accountability, and the participation in  longitudinal research activities will give the participants a strong role in arts advocacy and ability to inform public arts policy.
Institute  Outcome: Each participating school team will develop a five-year arts plan, individually suited for the school they represent. The plan will acknowledge needs specific to each art discipline and the needs of the school and school community. The plan will provide a framework for longitudinal research conducted by the University of Northern Colorado and the Center for Integrated Arts Education.
