Clarinetist Lauren Jacobson enjoys a dynamic career as a performer and pedagogue. In addition to regular appearances in the United States and abroad as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician, she was a member of The President's Own Marine Band in Washington, D.C. Orchestral performance has included engagements with the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra, The Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic, the Colorado Symphony, the New Mexico Symphony and Arizona Opera.

She is a devoted chamber musician and contemporary performer, and appears nationally and internationally with IndigoTwo, a vibrant and intense partnership with pianist Futaba Niekawa. IndigoTwo’s collaboration is rooted in a desire to connect deeply with wide-ranging audiences, drawing from contemporary pieces, classic works, and repertoire influenced by jazz or folk styles. Contemporary ensemble activities include performances with the Verge Contemporary Ensemble and Fuse Ensemble.

Jacobson is an active and passionate teacher. In addition to her current position as Assistant Professor of Clarinet at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO, frequent master class appearances around the nation and Artist/Teacher engagements around the world have included the Eastman School of Music, Northwestern University, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the Colorado College Music Festival, the Music Festival of Panama, the Vianden International Festival in Luxembourg and residencies at the University of Costa Rica and Vanderbilt University.

Jacobson holds a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the Eastman School of Music. Her teachers have included Jon Manasse and Bil Jackson.
