Graduate Degrees

Our graduate programs help you turn your passion into practical skills to take you further in your music career. The flexible degree programs are led by internationally known faculty who will help you become a well-rounded 21st-century musician ready for the next professional step.

We offer Master of Music degrees in Collaborative Piano, Conducting, Jazz Studies, Music Education, History and Literature, Performance, and Theory and Composition. We also offer a Graduate Certificate in Performance in either classical or jazz music.

Doctor of Arts degrees are offered in Collaborative Piano, Composition, Conducting, Jazz Studies, Music Education, History & Literature, and Performance. You will create your own plan of study in your primary area and choose a secondary concentration to broaden your skillset, prepare culminating recitals, and contribute your own research in a doctoral dissertation.

No matter which program you choose, you will receive advanced instruction in your specialty area, pedagogy, history and literature, theory, and research and scholarship as well as many opportunities to perform, conduct, present, compose and collaborate within and across disciplines.
