Bradford Behn is principal clarinetist of the Fort Collins Symphony and Tulsa Symphony orchestras, and performs regularly with orchestras around the front range. Brad studied with Robert Marcellus at Northwestern University where he received the MM and BM degrees in clarinet performance. Dedicated towards acoustics, Brad has become well known in the clarinet community for advancements in mouthpiece design. He owns and operates a mouthpiece company serving an international clientele. Through an ongoing process of acoustic examination, trial and error, and imagination, Brad has now a patent in process, and several mouthpiece lines for players of all levels. In addition to his current position with the University of Northern Colorado, Brad has been instructor of clarinet at Tulsa Community College, the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, and the University of Colorado, Boulder. Active as a clinician and soloist, his music endeavors take him across America and abroad to conduct clinics, masterclasses, and recitals.
