Lauren Jacobson has enjoyed a varied career as an artist and teacher. From 2006 to 2010 she was a member of The President's Own Marine Band and Orchestra in Washington, D.C. Her performances with the organization included three solo appearances, performances at the White House, the Kennedy Center and Strathmore Music Center, and two national concert tours. Lauren has performed for several high-profile events, including the Presidential Inauguration in 2008 and the United Nations conference in New York City in 2009.
In addition to her professional experience with the Marine Band, Lauren has performed with the National Opera Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic, and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.
Lauren is an avid chamber musician and has peformed frequently with the Verge Ensemble, Ensemble in Residence at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Fuse Ensemble in the Kennedy Center's annual Contemporary Music Week.
She is passionate about teaching and has presented master classes at institutions including the Eastman School of Music, Northwestern University, Ithica College, Bucknell University, the University of Northern Colorado, and Colorado State University.
Lauren holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master's Degree and Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. Lauren has participated in music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival and the Colorado College Music Festival. Her teachers have included Jon Manasse, Bil Jackson, Kenneth Grant, and Richie Hawley. In addition to pursuing a Doctorate at the Eastman School of Music, Lauren is currently Instructor of Clarinet at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO.
