Aaron Liu-Rosenbaum is Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Music Technology at the University of Northern Colorado, where he teaches courses in music theory and music technology, and oversees the recording studio, keyboard lab and computer music lab. He joined the university in 2009 after teaching at Hofstra University, The City College of New York, Brooklyn College, Queens College, and William Paterson University.
He holds a Ph.D. in music composition and a Certificate in Interactive Technology and Pedagogy from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, an M.A. in music theory and a B.A. in French Comparative Literature from Columbia University in New York, a B.Mus. in classical composition from the New England Conservatory of Music, and a Certificate in Audio Engineering from the New School University in New York.
His professional interests lie in digital audio and composition, pedagogical technology, and popular music analysis. His book, “Ozzy Osbourne: The Randy Rhoads Years” is published with Cherry Lane Publishing, and he is presently researching recording studio aesthetics in the music of Led Zeppelin. His compositions have been performed at venues in New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Paris.
