Lauded for her “intimidating mastery” by the New York Press and as the violinist for “the best chamber concert of the year” by Austin Critic’s Table, Rebecca Oertli has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the USA, Canada and Europe. She recently appeared as a soloist with the Kiev Symphony, the Texas Festival Orchestra and the Cluj Romania Orchestra among others. Enjoying a diverse violin career, she has also toured and performed with Josh Groban, the Irish Tenors, Danny Oertli and the multi-platinum Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
This fall, Mrs. Oertli joined the faculty of the University of Northern Colorado. She also continues as the advanced violin instructor at Schreiner University and is a recent conductor with the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio. Passionate about making a difference through music, Mrs. Oertli co-founded an ongoing violin program for impoverished children in Romania and the Ukraine. Earlier this year, she launched “Rebecca Oertli Fiddle Camp”, a two week summer program focusing on Celtic, World Music and Texas Fiddling.
Mrs. Oertli has performed with the San Antonio Symphony, Austin Symphony and as concertmaster of the Kingsville Symphony, Mid-Texas Symphony and the Symphony of the Hills among others. She is a founding member of Austin’s Angels string trio which was hailed by the Houston Chronicle as “the string player’s answer to the Eroica Trio” as they dazzled audiences and performed live on NPR.
Mrs. Oertli holds performance degrees from the University of Texas and the Juilliard School.
