Guidelines for Presentations: Classical Period


  • Classical opera
    • Development of opera from Baroque to Classical
    • Opera seria in the Classic era
    • Gluck and "Reform" operas
    • Opera buffa
    • Include discussion of the following works by principal composers in terms of typical structure, style (there will not be time to listen to all of them -- bring scores to look at; maybe play short selections):
