Sieger Hartgers leads the Printmaking area and serves as head of the
Foundations studio program. Hartgers teaches courses in Printmaking ,
Foundations and Drawing studio area. He has actively sought opportunities
for exhibitions and display of works created by his students including a
Fall 2003 "Printmaking Student Exhibition" in the Oak Room Gallery at UNC,
Fall of 2005 "Life Drawing Student Exhibition" in the Oak Room Gallery.
Also, students work in the Crucible Literary Magazine, an annual publication
(hardcopy and on-line) by the UNC English Department. The students also show
their work in the conference room of the college of Humanities and Social
Sciences and the Magnus Resturant (downtown Greeley), these expositions are
replaced every 4 months.
Before pursuing his B.F.A. degree, Hartgers served in the United StatesArmy
for a number of years, and was a former Chief Army Artist for Combat
Art and head of the Army Graphics School. Artwork produced during his Army
career may be found in U.S. Army Center of Military History publications,
and on Army sponsored website, including the "Arlington National Cemetery."
