Connie Stewart

Connie Stewart is a UNC Visual Arts Assistant Professor and the Project Coordinator  for The Center for Integrated Education. The Center for Arts Education is a research based, grant funded promoting arts education and arts integration within the curriculum of Colorado public schools. Stewart teaches Art History and Art Education classes including supervising a practicum for  art education teacher candidates in local schools.  She holds a BA in Elementary Education (UNC 74), an MA in Visual Arts with an emphasis in Drawing (UNC 94) and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership/Aesthetic Education (TU&I 05.) 2002, Colorado Art Education Association Higher Education Educator of the Year, Colorado Art Educator Association and 2006 University
of Northern Colorado Academic Excellence Award for Teaching
Excellence in Undergraduate Education.

Stewart's own art making uses found materials to examine issues of feminine identity and family interaction.
