School of Art and Design
College of Performing and Visual Arts
Creation of equity and inclusion in the classroom by examining and deconstructing
the colonization of curriculum. Emphasis on visual culture, and contemporary artistic
practices as a vehicle to identify and interpret visual signs (semiotics) and ways
of seeing (phenomenology) to facilitate meaningful learning in synchronous and asynchronous
learning modalities.
Current creative emphasis focuses on questioning artistic intentionality, the creation
of identity, and the assumption of social roles.
