Professional/Academic Experience

Briana holds a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Northern Colorado. While at UNC, she studied saxophone with Dr. Andrew Dahlke and jazz composition with Erik Applegate. She was a member of Jazz Lab Band 1, which won two Downbeat student music awards and toured internationally in China during her time with the band. She also holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Alabama, where she studied with Dr. Jon Noffsinger and Chris Kozak.

Briana is a member and co-manager of The Burroughs, an up-and-coming Colorado soul band that has performed at The Underground Music Festival, The Greeley Blues Jam, Tour de Fat, and Bohemian Nights at New West Fest. She appears on The Burroughs' first full-length live album, Sweaty Greeley Soul, released in July of 2015. Briana is also a member of The Cairn Project, an original jazz group that released a self-titled album in August of 2015. Her other recording credits include David Caffey's Enter Autumn (released October 2015) and Socrates Garcia's Back Home (releasing Spring 2016).
