How to Apply

The College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of three fully accredited entities: the School of Art and Design, the School of Music, and the School of Theatre Arts and Dance. Admission to most programs within the College requires additional steps beyond a UNC application.

Admission to the School of Art and Design does not require any additional steps beyond admission to UNC. Students may submit a portfolio for scholarship consideration, but one is not required to enter the program. An application and successful audition are required for entry into any degree program within the School of Music. Instructions for signing up and preparing for the School of Music auditions are included with the application, which can be found on the School of Music Admissions page.

Students are required to apply separately for all programs in the School of Theatre Arts and Dance. Most programs require an audition or interview for admission.
