The University of Northern Colorado’s School of Art & Design is proud to announce Impressions of Campus, a solo exhibition of UNC Alumnus and Faculty of Printmaking and Life Drawing, Sieger Hartgers. The works on view capture Hartgers’ admiration for the University’s campus, a place he says is, “uniquely beautiful” and has brought the artist great pleasure and catharsis throughout his tenure.

Congratulations to Art & Design professor Anna Ursyn on having her art chosen for the MoonArk, part of the Moon Arts project set up by Carnegie Mellon University as the first collaborative mission of this kind involving several universities and organizations. Her piece, entitled “Swarm,” will literally travel to the Moon in a capsule aboard a NASA lunar lander!

UNC Professor of Saxophone Andrew Dahlke is featured on a recording of a piece chosen as a finalist for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize in Music. The work is titled The Mechanics: Six From the Shop Floor, composed by CU-Boulder Professor Carter Pann. The Pulitzer Prize in Music is based off of the recording of the work rather than the written score. Pann’s piece was composed for the Capitol Quartet, a saxophone quartet in which Dahlke was a member through October 2014.
