The All Angles Orchestra, formed at UNC and led by composer Mike Conrad, recently released their new album, New Angle. The group, which specializes in new and original music for their unique mixed instrumentation, is currently performing across the Midwest on a 7-city tour. [READ FULL POST]
Another one of the participants for the Call For Scores portion of our 2017 Open Space Festival is UNC’s very own Conner Shaw. He is a Jazz Studies and Composition student at the School of Music, with guitar as his primary instrument. The UNC School of Music has announced the winners of the first annual Spark Initiative. Students Braeden Ayres and Trevor Lovell will receive $1,500 from the Monfort College of Business to continue development of a mobile and web-based app that teaches students rhythmic concepts. [READ FULL POST]
