Annual Student Exhibition 2016
This year’s Juried Student Show is a collection of student artwork chosen by juror Courtney Lane Stell, founding executive director and chief curator of Black Cube, a nomadic art museum. The exhibition features student work including printmaking, drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, graphic design, digital art, and photography.

Tyler Jensen will take the stage in the lead role of The Who’s Tommy, opening this week on March 2 at 7:30PM in Langworthy Theatre. Jensen is a junior at UNC majoring in musical theatre and minoring in dance.

Music Students Develop Educational App Through Spark Initiative
The UNC School of Music has announced the winners of the first annual Spark Initiative. Students Braeden Ayres and Trevor Lovell will receive $1,500 from the Monfort College of Business to continue development of a mobile and web-based app that teaches students rhythmic concepts.

Longshadow: Shyra DeSouza
Longshadow is a collection of mini installations of interior home spaces that emphasize the monumental, curio cabinet, or trophy-like relationship to kitsch items. Each contains a combination of assembled objects, as well as elaborate, serpentine objects created by the artist. Other small items are incorporated in an unnervingly awkward and sparse way. Complex layered shadows create an abstraction of the forms, enabling the viewer to see many angles/perspectives at once.
