Friday, April 13, 10am-2pm
UNC University Center Panorama Room
This event is free and open to the public.
Design Day is the culminating Foundations project that collaboratively integrates the elements, art, and gestalt principles of design to create a unique, visually appealing, and conceptually unified work of art. 2018 projects will have the goals of demonstrating a theme and incorporating at least one aspect of 4D design: time, space, and/or motion.
Students will be assessed on collaboration, planning, creation, formal use of elements, technical craftsmanship, conceptual connections, and presentation. They will have several weeks in class prior to beginning the project to become familiar with art in the fourth dimension, and they will also collaborate and generate ideas in class. Much of the work will be done outside of class, however; they can attend Friday workshops for this purpose. Completed projects will be placed in the Oak Room Gallery for two weeks after the Design Day event.
