The University of Northern Colorado School of Theatre Arts and Dance’s professional summer stock company, Little Theatre of the Rockies, presents its 2018 season: Xanadu by Douglas Carter Beane, John Farrar, and Jeff Lynne, Lobby Hero by Kenneth Lonergan, Angel Street by Patrick Hamilton, I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti by Jacques Lamarre, and Catch Me If You Can by Terrance McNally, Marc Shaiman, and Scott Wittman. The season runs June 7 through July 29 in Langworthy Theatre and Norton Theatre on UNC Central Campus. Under the artistic direction of David Grapes II, Little Theatre of the Rockies is honored to bring the 84th season of summer stock theatre to the Greeley community yet again.
The season first opens with its production of Xanadu by Douglas Carter Beane, John Farrar, and Jeff Lynne, a hilarious musical adventure about Greek goddesses, roller discos and dreams coming true, directed by Shelly Gaza. The show opens June 7, 2018, with evening performances on June 7-9, July 4-5, 14, and 20 and matinee performances on June 10 and July 15 in Norton Theatre located in Gray Hall on UNC Central Campus.
The second production of the summer is Lobby Hero by Kenneth Lonergan, a comedic drama about conflicting principles and choices that define who we are, directed by Ken Womble. This show opens June 14, 2018, with evening performances on June 14-16, July 6, 11-12, and 21 and matinee performances on June 17 and July 22 in Norton Theatre located in Gray Hall on UNC Central Campus.
The third production is Angel Street by Patrick Hamilton, a thrilling mystery of a homicidal maniac and the inspector that vows to catch him, directed by Alison Vasquez. This show opens June 21, 2018, with evening performances on June 21-23, July 7, 13, and 18-19 and matinee performances on June 24 and July 8 in Norton Theatre located in Gray Hall on UNC Central Campus.
The fourth production of the 2018 season is I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti adapted by Jacques Lamarre and based off of the memoir by Giulia Melucci, a one-woman show about heartbreak and culinary masterpieces, directed by David Grapes II. The show opens June 28, 2018, with evening performances on June 28-30 and a matinee performance on July 1 in Langworthy Theatre located in Frasier Hall on UNC Central Campus.
The final show of the season is Catch Me If You Can by Terrance McNally, Marc Shaiman, and Scott Wittman, the high-flying musical comedy about chasing your dreams and not getting caught, directed by David Grapes II. The show opens July 26, 2018, with evening performances on July 26-28 and a matinee performance on July 29 in Langworthy Theatre located in Frasier Hall on UNC Central Campus.
