The University of Northern Colorado School of Theatre Arts and Dance’s professional summer stock company, Little Theatre of the Rockies presents its 2019 season. The season runs June 13 through August 4 in Norton Theatre on UNC Central Campus. Little Theatre of the Rockies is honored to bring the 85th season of summer stock theatre to the Greeley community yet again.
The Wolves

In this contemporary slice-of-life play, The Wolves, a girls’ indoor soccer team, practice drills as they prepare for a succession of games. As they warm up and talk about life, the girls navigate the politics of their personal lives as well as the politics of the larger world, gossiping about things like war, menstrual products, genocide, sports, pop culture, and their relationships. Each team member struggles to negotiate her individuality while being a part of a group. They bond over a bag of orange slices and personal traumas. The team seems as if it may disband after the sudden death of one of the girls, but they manage to come together. In the end, the surviving team players prepare to play yet another game together – closer, stronger, wiser, and fiercer.

This comedic Broadway musical paints the picture of every blind date full of first impressions, awkward pauses, and unexpected attractions. First Date by Austin Winsberg, Alan Zachary, and Michael Weiner follows blind date newbie Aaron and serial-dater Casey as they meet for the first time in a bustling New York restaurant. What was supposed to be a relaxed drink by the bar soon turns into a hilarious high-stakes dinner. The two begin swapping stories of exes, family, and interests when their inner critics begin to manifest and give them advice throughout the date. Singing and dancing their way through appetizers, entrees, and potential conversational landmines, can this couple salvage this potentially disastrous date before the evening is over?

Into The Woods is a Tony Award winning musical based off the fairytales of Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault. Following fairytale characters such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and many more, this musical connects each character through highlighting the consequences of each of their actions. All the characters cross paths when trying to fulfill the wishes they all have: Cinderella wishes to attend the King’s festival; Jack wishes his cow would give milk; Little Red Riding Hood wishes for bread for her grandmother; and the Baker and his wife wish for a child. A wrench is thrown in when a witch appears to grant the Baker and his wife’s wish, but they must first bring her ingredients to create the spell. ; a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and a slipper as pure as gold. Watch how each of these characters helps the other to fight villains, face their fears, and make all their dreams come true.
