Naomi Gold, Lighting Design

Naomi Gold, a UNC Design & Technology major studying lighting design, recently won the USA National 2nd Place Barbizon Award for Theatrical Excellence in Lighting Design at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Nationals for her lighting design in UNC’s Fall 2016 production of Spring Awakening (pictured above). UNC Lighting Design

Three UNC Design & Technology Students, Naomi Gold, Tim Mack, and Patrick Hinchliffe, recently entered a contest put on by the lighting company High End Systems. With help from faculty member Ryan Andrus, they programmed a virtual design using the company’s proprietary software and control systems and were judged on creativity and use of the company’s equipment, all for a chance to win a trip to a lighting design trade show in Las Vegas.
