Emily Grace Davis King, School of Art and Design alum '07, won the Arvada Chamber of Commerce's 2021 Young Professional Leadership award this past spring for her work on equitable art access.
This award recognizes an Arvada young professional under the age of 40 whose leadership and dedication have positively impacted their community. Emily serves as the Gallery Exhibition Manager at the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities. In addition, she ensures equitable access to art through Art Drop Arvada and her work on the Arvada Arts and Culture Commission.
Emily embodies a leadership style that is rooted in collaboration, sharing, and working to help uplift others. For this award, the Senate of the Colorado Legislature recognized Emily as an example of creativity and volunteerism to the people of Colorado, and she also received recognition from the U.S. House of Representatives during the second session of the 117th Congress, where Colorado Congressman Ed Perlmutter expressed his deepest appreciation for Emily’s contributions to the community.
