Note: Your University Admission decision will be held until you receive a music program recommendation. You must be admitted to the University and recommended for admission to a music program in order to declare a music major.
Applicants to the UNC School of Music will complete either an In-Person Audition & Interview, or a Video Audition and Virtual Interview. **Please review the audition/admission requirements closely as some graduate programs (Master's of Music and Doctorate of Arts) do not require an audition.
In-Person Auditions & Interviews
Audition scheduling is completed as part of the Supplementary Music Application. You will be scheduled for one or more auditions/interviews depending on your primary instrument and program of study.
Video Auditions and Virtual Interviews
Your video audition will be submitted to your Admission Portal after completing your application, but before your virtual interview. Virtual interview scheduling is completed as part of the Supplementary Music Application. You will be scheduled for one or more auditions/interviews depending on your primary instrument and program of study.
Please note that all audition videos must be uploaded at the same time. Once you upload a video to the portal portfolio and click save, you will no longer have access. If you need to update your video at anytime, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
